Welcome to our village...
Ban Huai Hok is the fourth village encountered along the road into the Mae Yang Min catchment, and falls within the government zoned Moo 11. Huay Hok means "Bamboo stream" and is the name of the stream that flows from the southern hills into the Mae Yang Min River next to this village. This stream provides all of the drinking water for the four villages west of here, including Huay Hok. 11 years ago, this village was located a few kilometers up the stream in the forest, but was forced to relocate by Thai Forestry officials. Improvements in health and sanitation are greatly needed within this village.
