Welcome to our village...
     Ban Sai Kham is the fourth village encountered along the road into the Mae Tam catchment, and falls within the government zoned Moo 18. Sai Kham was founded 13 years ago, when a group of Akha moved down from Huay Nam Khun village in order to own their own land (they worked as tea pickers and rented homes from the KMT Chinese in Huay Nam Khun). The land for this village was purchased from a Bala villager at that time. One big problem facing this community is land erosion which can be seen quite clearly right in front of the village along the road, as well as in the village itself.

Key needs / Issues
• 1. Unfinished community health center 2. Rain water flow & flooding in the community 3. Insufficient household water systems 4. No education fund 5. Degraded soil in agricultural sites 6. Lack of Thai citizenship (19) 7. Poor road access conditions 8. Not enough latrines 9. Handicap persons & elderly in community without assistance 10. Drainage systems required to prevent flooding due to rain
